A bed, a nurse, and someone who stays

A home for bedridden patients who have been abandoned, or who have no one to care for them and nowhere else to go.

Completely free, for every patient

How it began

For years, Mr. K. J. Peter and his friends spent their days in the isolation ward of General Hospital, Ernakulam, helping patients who had no one — bathing them, feeding them, tending to their wounds. Many were bedridden, with deep wounds and infections that needed care every single day. The ward was crowded, and at times two patients had to share one bed, even through their final hours.

They could not forget what they saw. In 2013, Mr. Peter and his friends opened Jeramiah's Home, so that these patients could have a bed of their own and people to care for them.

“He came to us with no memory and no one to call. Two months later, his brothers came to take him home.”

Noren, 44, was brought to us from General Hospital, Ernakulam after a head injury had taken his memory. By God’s grace, and with the patient care of our nurses and physiotherapists, his memory slowly returned and he walked again. His brothers came from Assam to take him home.
