How it began

When someone falls seriously ill or becomes bedridden, their family often needs medical equipment almost overnight — an oxygen concentrator, a wheelchair, a hospital bed. For families already struggling, the cost can be overwhelming, whether the need lasts a few weeks or for the rest of a loved one's life.

Mr. K. J. Peter and our trustees started Oppam so that no family would have to go without. We lend the equipment completely free, and it stays with the family for as long as it's needed. There is no deadline and no charge — it comes back to us only once its use is fulfilled, ready for the next family.
